Requirements
SALES VERIFICATION APPRAISER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits of sales data, reconciling discrepancies and reporting findings to the State Tax Commission.
Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in sales data.
Prepare and distribute comprehensive sales reports to appraisers, management, and the State Tax Commission.
Maintain and update accurate sales records and databases to ensure consistency and reliability.
Provide support to appraisers, analysts, and management in data analysis and reporting processes.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience in real estate appraisal methodology
Ability to understand and apply appraisal techniques, principles, and practices of real estate appraisal using mass appraisal methods
Knowledge of laws and regulations pertinent to the appraisal and assessment of property
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with the public
Ability to take control of situations in a responsible manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) years of work experience with demonstrated customer service skills, analytical thinking, problem solving and initiative
A valid driver’s license
Pass a background check
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Ability to operate various types of equipment – standard office equipment, scanner, computer, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Ability to use the GIS system. Other equipment could be required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional and friendly manner
Skill in interacting with customers, citizens, co-workers, and management in a respectful and constructive way
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

RETIREMENT BENEFITS
CERF SAVINGS - Vested after 5 years. County will put in $.50 per dollar up to the first 4% (Contribution is elective)
CERF RETIREMENT - Mandatory 4% contribution of salary. Vested after 8 years. Benefit is based on calculation of a formula at retirement
LAGERS - Vested after 5 years. Benefit at retirement is based on FINAL AVERAGE WAGE and a Benefit Factor calculation formula
