Elected Officeholder: John Elliott
Second District Commissioner
John was elected District 2 Associate Commissioner in November, 2016. Campaigning on lower taxes and higher accountability, this is his first foray into public office.
John grew up on a farm in Grundy County and graduated from Trenton High School. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics. While there he met Julie Goff from Grant City and they were married in 1986 and immediately moved to Platte County. Prior to starting their own marketing business in 1995, Julie worked at Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative and John worked at Wells Bank. They now reside in rural Platte County.
They are the proud parents of Sam, and daughter-in-law Collins, and Sadie. Sadie will graduate from The King’s College in NYC in May and Sam will start at the University of Virginia School of Law in August. Collins is a wonderful elementary school teacher.
John has served on numerous boards and committees including Northland Christian School, Outreach Christian Church, Platte County Republican Central Committee and Platte County Board of Equalization.
The family loves to travel and is seeking to attend a game at every Major League baseball stadium (three to go) and visit every state capital (20 to go). John and Julie hope to one day cruise the Alaskan Inside Passage (without the kids).
