All businesses producing, soliciting, serving or selling alcoholic beverages in Platte County are required to have a Platte County Liquor License.
Obtaining a Liquor License
In order to obtain a license for the County of Platte, the following is required:
1. Copy of the establishment’s license(s) issued by the State of Missouri.
2. Completed PLATTE COUNTY LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION.
3. The appropriate fees paid:

4. Approval of the County Commission: After receipt of all of the above documents, requests are submitted during the County Commission Administrative Session held the first and third Monday of each month.
All documents must be in the County Clerk’s office by 5:00 the Tuesday prior to session in order for the request to be processed by the Commission.
Issuing Liquor License
After approval, licenses are emailed to the email address of record. Licenses are to be displayed behind the cash register as required by law.

PENALTIES: According to Platte County Ordinances, TITLE VI. BUSINESS AND OCCUPATION, CHAPTER 600: ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, Section 600.020 Failure to Pay Required County Liquor License Fee.
A. No person, firm, partnership or corporation shall manufacture, sell or expose for sale upon any premises in Platte County, Missouri, any alcoholic beverages without displaying upon the premises a current and valid County liquor license. The failure to display such a license upon any premises in Platte County, Missouri, in which alcoholic beverages are manufactured, sold or exposed for sale, shall be considered a violation of this Chapter.
B. The failure of any holder of a State liquor license permit at premises located within Platte County, Missouri to pay the lawfully assessed County liquor license fee shall be considered a violation of this Chapter.
C. Violation of Section 600.010 shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (County Order of 4-2-91)
Failures to renew licenses are reported to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.
