The County Clerk's office administers oaths of office for the Secretary of State's office for Notary Public.

Procedure:
1) Obtain application and information booklet for becoming a Notary from
the County Clerk's Office.

2) Complete and return application to the Secretary of State's office.

3) When you receive confirmation of your commission from the Secretary of State, purchase a $10,000 Notary Bond from any insurance company.

4) Bring your Notary Bond and the $6 fee for notary or $3 for amended notary to the County Clerk's office to be sworn in.
