Recorder's Office Overview:

The preservation of our county's history is the Recorder of Deeds' legacy to its citizens.

We first issue marriage license or file service discharge papers. We record first home purchases and subsequently release the mortgage. We provide certified copies for education and medical benefits. And maybe most importantly, we preserve the right to inheritance for our children.

The Recorder's office gives us the opportunity to grow and learn about the people who live in our county now and before. Where they lived, the date in which they applied for a marriage license and how they signed their names to important documents.

The Recorder of Deeds oversees areas in regard to all real estate documents, marriage licenses, financing statements, soldier’s discharge, federal tax liens, state tax liens and is the official keeper of these instruments.

The Real Estate Division is the central filing office for all real estate instruments for Platte County. These documents must be proved or acknowledged according to law.
